Final tally: Scott Stevens Scores 5,621 High Fives for Suicide Prevention and Awareness at the Salem Fair!

New Country 107.9 YYD's Program Director and Afternoon Host, Scott Stevens, stood outside the front gates at the Salem Fair for 24 hours straight (from 6 pm June 30 through 6 pm July 1) in an effort to break the record for most High Fives in a 24-hour period, but, more importantly, to bring awareness to the cause of suicide prevention and to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention!

While Scott did not break the record, he and the AFSP volunteers on hand brought awareness to the work the AFSP does.

Earlier:

Join New Country 107.9 YYD's Scott Stevens right out front at the Salem Fair through Saturday, July 1 at 6:00 pm and give him a "high five" for suicide awareness and prevention!

Scott will be, once again, trying to set the world record for "Most High Fives" in a 24-hour period!

The current record is 14,607 set in Australia in 2012.

For 24 hours straight, Scott and volunteers from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be set up near the fair entrance providing information on their mission to stop suicide.

Scott's previous record high is 10,771 and he's working on a new strategy to get even MORE High Fives this year!

And don't worry, there will be plenty of hand sanitizer available!
